User Manuals
Sprok DTS provides translation services for manuals that require professional knowledge and experience in specific technical fields, including manuals for the everyday user to ones designed for engineers. User manual translation requires a consistent use of terminology, which we achieve through our use of CAT tools.
Technical Documents (Engineering)
Technical document translation in the field of engineering encompasses design descriptions, operational guidelines, technical specifications, and others. Here at Sprok DTS, technical document translation is carried out by linguists whose experience in technical translation or employment in relevant fields has been verified. Blueprints
Blueprints require not only quality translation, but also high-quality DTP (editing) for the results to be excellent. Here at Sprok DTS, we provide translation services for all major blueprint file types in use from the early 2000s—and the 20 or so years onward—using our CAT tool-based TRP process and DTP, which are carried out separately.
Systematic Translations for All Documents via CDO
Engineering translation usually comprises a high percentage of user manual translations. Many of our customers request manual translations in various file formats, including PDF. These manuals range anywhere from mostly text-based manuals to image-heavy manuals with snippets of text; in some cases, we are sent scanned files. While text-based manuals can most easily be integrated into Sprok DTS’s operational processes, character data optimization (CDO) is mandatorily applied to documents in which texts cannot be picked up. The CDO process includes manual typing tasks, through which a consistent translation or localization project can commence.
In the CDO step, the computer processes all visually distinguishable texts into identifiable data, whether it be text that has been rendered into images or entirely scanned documents.
